Mark just returned from the Mustang Makeover finals in FT Worth where he competed against 130 trainers all who had 100 days to work with their horses he and his mustang Christian preformed a routine that stunned the crowd and brought them to their feet at the conclusion wowing the judges and winning 1st place you may view the performance here Click here to watch their run

Start your colt right! You will feel the difference!

At the end of 30 days colts will be able to: walk, trot, lope, pick up correct leads, stop solidly, back softly, pivot on forehand and hindquarters, side-pass and complete trail obstacles (cross bridges, the teeter-totter, water and tarps, drag logs and sleds, open and close gates, negotiate ravines, ditches, hills, pick through fallen logs. You will be able to crack a whip and throw a rope from their back and they will track a cow, we also have been known to play a little polo).

The first 30 days of riding lay the foundation for the horse's entire riding career. We work hard at making that foundation solid and positive by teaching horse's to search for the right response and to think.
Horses will be trained at Five Star Stables
their premier facilty is designed for your horses safety with 6-8 foot tall welded pipe fences and pens.
The first 1 to 3 rides are done in a 60 foot round pen.

Rides 3 to 5 are usually done in the 150x200 indoor or expansive outdoor arena. Here we use the good footing to work out the fundamentals of walking, trotting, loping, stopping and backing. Once this is established the horses leave the arena and go to work.

The remaining time is split between the arena and applying the horse's skills and building confidence in the real world. The horses spend plenty of time on the miles of trails. We have one of the largest trail courses in the state consisting of five different bridges, three water crossings and a lake to swim in, a see-saw or teeter-totter for horses four different cowboy curtians, one, two, and three step obstacles to climb up and down, ditches, gullies, hills to navigate plus many more natural and man made obstacles designed to make your horse the best it can be.

The horses learn to think and to be confident as they use fundamental skills to work and complete tasks.
Come see for yourself
You are strongly encouraged to stop by and ask for a demonstration of the horses that are nearing the end of their 30 days. You will not belive what your horse could do in a month with us. DVDs are available if visiting is not a option.

We can also start your colt on cattle work and roping. We have mechanical cows, pro cutter and live cattle available to start or tune up your cow horse.
